Product Details


The magnetostrictive level sensor represents accurate measurement, maintenance-free and long service life. Although it looks inconspicuous, it is the main product for liquid level measurement or liquid level control. It has a large number of applications in petrochemical industry, power metallurgy, water treatment equipment and other fields.

It mainly consists of electronic transmitter, float and probe rod. The float rises or falls along the guide tube, and a permanent magnet is installed on the float, forming a magnetic field around it; the electron emitter periodically emits a current pulse, called an initial pulse, which propagates along the magnetostrictive line and generates a magnetic field as it moves downwards ; The two magnetic fields create a torque on the magnetostrictive line, thus producing a return pulse.

The pulse travels upward at a fixed speed and is received by the electron emitter. Using the principle of the Weidmann effect (also known as the principle of magnetostriction), the time interval between the initial pulse and the return pulse can be accurately measured through modern advanced electronic technology.

The magnetostrictive level sensor has a float outside the measuring rod, which moves up and down with the liquid level. There is a set of magnetic rings inside the float. When the pulse current magnetic field meets the magnetic ring magnetic field generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes, causing the waveguide made of magnetostrictive material to generate a torsional wave pulse at the position of the float, that is, it is transmitted back along the waveguide at a fixed speed and Detected by the testing agency.
